Identify the Right Contact Lenses for You
Before you opt for or switch over to contact lenses, it is important to undergo a thorough eye exam to obtain the most recent prescription. This also enables the doctors to rule out any pre-existing conditions that may interfere with your contact lens wear.
At Waco Vision Center, we will recommend the right contact lenses based on your lifestyle, as well as shape and health of your eye. You may be able to try contact lenses on the day of the exam and walk home with samples to evaluate.
Follow up Contact Lens Fittings
Your initial fitting is followed up with additional fitting to accommodate any necessary changes. The fit and materials can be altered to ensure the best fit for you. Our team also educated you on the right contact lens care measures for optimal results. You will also be made aware of the consequences of poor contact lens hygiene.
We will also continue long-term follow-up to monitor the condition and hygiene of the contact lenses.

Eye Exams for Contact Lenses
Routine eye exams don't cover all the measurements and testing necessary to determine contact lens suitability. Dedicated contact lens exams are needed to understand whether your eye are suitable for contact lenses and if there are any other factors that may affect your wearability of lenses.
At your contact lens exam, your doctor will take multiple measurements to generate the right fit of contact lenses for you.
- Corneal curvature
- Pupil or iris size
- Tear film evaluation
- Contact lens trial and prescription
Once the right fit is determined, a follow up fitting is also scheduled to cross check the fit and perform any adjustments. Always ensure to visit your doctor immediately if you experience discomfort or dryness in your eyes after contact lens wear.
